Quality Manager:

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Manages the Quality Control and Laboratory departments and staff to execute on business plan objectives.
2. Provides leadership in the development, training and maintenance of all quality systems and documents including HACCP, SQF and GMP programs.
3. Provides leadership and guidance to the Quality Systems Coordinator and Lab Supervisor.
4. Responsible for continuous improvement of product quality and plant quality systems and investigating and recommending corrective actions.
5. Is the lead location representative for all external and internal quality related issues.
6. Leading regulatory, customer and internal audits, developing new processes, and ensuring compliance.
7. Responsible for departmental budgeting and cost control with emphasis on productivity.
8. Provides leadership to help ensure a safe work environment throughout the plant.
9. Maintains consistent communication and fosters teamwork between all local personnel, departments and shifts, as well as, other company locations and external customers and resources.
10. Insures company policies and procedures are fairly administered between departments and shifts.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or related field and a minimum of 5 years experience in a quality managerial/leadership role.
2. Experience or knowledge of applicable food industry related regulations and quality systems.
3. Strong Managerial skills to develop staff.
4. Must have excellent communication, interpersonal and teaming skills.
5. Flexible to work extra hours or weekends when required.
