Our oldest company is Minneapolis-based Crystal Farms®, founded in 1926 and now a leading distributor of refrigerated, dairy case products sold in over 5,000 grocery stores in 42 states. These value-conscious products range from cheese and eggs to butter, margarine, bagels and English muffins.

Our egg products division is made up of Papetti's®, M.G. Waldbaum® and MFI Food Canada. Michael Foods, Inc is the largest global supplier of processed eggs. Papetti's® high-quality reputation also dates back to the early 20th century, when the Papetti family started a poultry business. Papetti's joined the Michael Foods family of companies in 1997. Founded in 1950, M.G. Waldbaum is known for its product innovation; Waldbaum introduced the first extended shelf-life egg. This patented process and product gives our ESL product an advantage in quality and consistency. Michael Foods, Inc., acquired Canadian Inovatech Inc. in Fall of 2002, which is a leading manufacturer and exporter of value-added egg products. Today's consumers can find quality and great taste in our Better'n Eggs® product at their local retailers.

Northern Star®, a leading producer of refrigerated potato products, was founded in 1951. Northern Star specializes in a variety of refrigerated (never frozen) potatoes for both the foodservice and retail markets. Farm Fresh Foods® is a subsidiary of Michael Foods and is a supplier of refrigerated potato products to the foodservice industry. Diners Choice® and Simply Potatoes® brands are sold in retail stores.
