Twelve Minute Frosting
Twelve Minute Frosting
Portions: 1 full cake’s worth frosting
Serving Size:
White sugar 1 ½ cups
Cream of tartar ¼ teaspoon
Salt 1/8 teaspo
Water 1/3 cup
Liquid Egg Whites ¼ cup
Vanilla extract 1 ½ teaspoons


  1. Begin by boiling water in a double boiler. Place sugar, cream of tartar, salt, water and Liquid Egg Whites in the top of the double boiler.
  2. Beat with handheld mixer on medium-low for 1 minute.
  3. Place the sugar and egg mixture bowl on top of the double boiler pot, being sure that boiling water does not touch the bottom of the bowl.
  4. Beat consistently on high speed with electric mixer for 12 minutes, finish by beating in vanilla.
  5. Tip:

    • To make a double boiler simply boil water in a medium sized pot and place your top bowl on top of the pot using the hot water steam as the heat source.
