Year 5 and Team Pullet Rides On!

Team Pullet, 2010

Minnetonka, MN - 8 July 2010 - What is Team Pullet, you ask? It’s a group of MFI employees, families and friends who pledged to ride 150 miles on their bike to raise money for the Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society. Multiple Sclerosis is a debilitating disease that attacks the central nervous system and affects over 400,000 Americans. Some symptoms of MS may include loss of balance, impaired vision and hearing, fatigue, muscle weakness and, in some cases, paralysis.

Everyone is affected differently by these symptoms; but simple, everyday living skills become increasingly difficult when you have MS. Many of us on the team, and perhaps you as well, know someone afflicted with this disease. So our team goals are simple; spread the word, recruit more Team Pullet riders and raise as much money as we can (stretch goal is $30,000)!

Our team started out small in 2006 (3 members!) but has grown over the past reaching 44 riders this year! On Saturday, June 12 we set off to ride from Proctor to Hinckley and on Sunday, June 13 we rode from Hinckley to White Bear Lake. Even though it was a little rainy the bike event was a huge success raising a total of: $32,335.70. With MFI matching employee donations, this was $4,210, that brings us to a grand total of $36,545.90!
