NACUFS National Conference, July 10 – 13, Minneapolis, Minnesota

MINNETONKA, MN – 13 June 2013 – The 2013 National Association of College & University Food Services (NACUFS) National Conference will be held in Minneapolis, Minnesota this year. The conference theme is “Northern Experience” and will include over 250 exhibitors.

For more than 50 years, the National Association of College & University Food Services has been supporting the college and university foodservice industry by providing members with the programs and resources.

The 2013 keynote speaker is Dr. Temple Grandin, who was honored in Time Magazine 2010 as one of "The 100 Most Influential People in the World." Her achievements are even more remarkable because she was an autistic child. At age two she had no speech and all the signs of severe autism. Grandin obtained her B. A. at Franklin Pierce College in 1970, her M.S. in Animal Science at Arizona State University in 1975, her Ph.D. in Animal Science from University of Illinois in 1989 and is currently a Professor at Colorado State University.

Special sessions on July 11th include presentations by:

  • Anna Lappé, founding principal, Small Planet Institute, author, and educator
  • Joe Pine, an internationally acclaimed author, speaker, and management advisor
  • Mai Pham, chef and author
