Au Gratin Potatoes

Ingredient Amount
Northern Star or Farm Fresh Whole Peeled Potatoes, Sliced 10 lbs
Garlic, minced 1/2 T
Onion, medium, chopped 1 each
Cheese Sauce
Margarine or Butter 1/2 cup
Flour 1/2 cup
Salt 2 t
Black Pepper 1/2 t
Milk 5 cups
Sharp Cheddar Cheese, shredded 3 cups

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 400ºF.
  2. Melt butter in a large saucepan over medium-low heat. Add flour, stir constantly until no lumps.
  3. While stirring, pour in milk slowly. After all milk has been added, turn heat to medium.
  4. Add onion, garlic, salt, and pepper, stirring constantly.
  5. When sauce starts to thicken (about 15 minutes), add cheese.
  6. Slice potatoes in an ungreased half sheet pan.
  7. Pour cheese sauce over potatoes.
  8. Place in oven and bake for 1 hour. Serve hot.
