Biscuit Strata

Easy prep, big flavor. This Biscuit Strata combines buttery biscuits, savory sausage, and creamy cheese, all brought together with Papetti’s® Liquid Whole Egg for a convenient bake that’s perfect for breakfast menus, buffets, or grab-and-go offerings.

Ingredients

Butter, unsalted
1 Tbsp.
Medium onion, diced
1 cup
Garlic cloves, minced
3 each
Baby spinach
3 cups
Whole milk
1 cup
Salt
1 Tbsp.
Ground mustard
1 Tbsp.
Cayenne pepper
1/2 Tbsp.
Black pepper
1/2 Tbsp.
Sharp Cheddar, shredded
2 cups

Directions

  1. Thaw biscuits at room temperature for approximate.10 minutes, cut biscuits into 1-inch pieces and place in the bottom of greased 2-inch half hotel pan and set aside.
  2. Heat butter in nonstick pan over medium heat until melted.
  3. Add the onion and cook over medium heat until tender.
  4. Add the garlic and spinach and cook for 2 minutes. Set aside.
  5. Whisk together the eggs, milk and seasonings in large bowl.
  6. Stir in the cooked vegetables and half of the shredded cheese.
  7. Pour the mixture into the prepared pan and top with remaining cheese.
  8. Cover and allow to soak in the refrigerator overnight.
  9. Remove from refrigerator approximately 30 minutes before baking.
  10. Bake in preheated 350° Convection Oven for 40-50 minutes, loosely covered with foil, or until the eggs are firm and the top is slightly golden brown. Internal temperatures should reach 165° or higher.
  11. Let stand for 10 minutes before cutting into 12 portions.
