Directions
- Preheat griddle on low. While heating, prepare patties by gently mix together ground beef and breakfast sausage.
- Divide mixture into 5 equally sized patties.
- Season liberally with salt and pepper.
- Keep refrigerated until grill is fully heated and prepared.
- Place bacon on hot griddle allowing to cook until crispy.
- Remove from griddle and set aside for later.
- Using the bacon grease left on the griddle, mound a pile of hashbrowns into 5 equal sections.
- Flatten slightly to make a hashbrown “patty.”
- Cook undisturbed until well crispy, around 6 minutes, flip to other side and finish cooking.
- On the other side of the griddle, using the bacon grease left on the griddle, place prepared burger patties onto griddle.
- Grill patties for approximately 4-5 minutes per side or until internal temperature reaches your personal preference.
- Place slices of cheese on top of cooked burgers.
- Remove burger from grill and cover lightly with foil.
- Using the burger and bacon grease left on the griddle, crack eggs onto griddle and cook until egg white is just set, leaving the yolk soft.
- Grill buttered bun until slightly golden brown.
- Complete assembly of burger by placing crispy hashbrowns on the bottom bun.
- Top with cheese covered burger.
- Next place crispy bacon and cooked egg.
- 5 oz bearnaise sauce, warmed, split between 5 ramekins.
- Finished with top bun and enjoy.

- Outdoor charcoal grill or well-seasoned cast iron pans produce the best tasting burgers.
