Hangover Burger

Hangover Burger

Servings:  5

Ingredients

Ground beef, no more than 80/20 blend
1 lb.
Spicy ground breakfast sausage​
1 lb.
Salt and course black pepper
generous pinch
Buttered brioche buns
5
Thick cut bacon
10 slices
American cheese
10 slices
Bearnaise sauce
5 oz.

Directions

  1. Preheat griddle on low. While heating, prepare patties by gently mix together ground beef and breakfast sausage.
  2. Divide mixture into 5 equally sized patties.
  3. Season liberally with salt and pepper.
  4. Keep refrigerated until grill is fully heated and prepared.
  5. Place bacon on hot griddle allowing to cook until crispy.
  6. Remove from griddle and set aside for later.
  7. Using the bacon grease left on the griddle, mound a pile of hashbrowns into 5 equal sections.
  8. Flatten slightly to make a hashbrown “patty.”
  9. Cook undisturbed until well crispy, around 6 minutes, flip to other side and finish cooking.​
  10. On the other side of the griddle, using the bacon grease left on the griddle, place prepared burger patties onto griddle.​
  11. Grill patties for approximately 4-5 minutes per side or until internal temperature reaches your personal preference.​
  12. Place slices of cheese on top of cooked burgers.​
  13. Remove burger from grill and cover lightly with foil.​
  14. Using the burger and bacon grease left on the griddle, crack eggs onto griddle and cook until egg white is just set, leaving the yolk soft.​
  15. Grill buttered bun until slightly golden brown.​
  16. Complete assembly of burger by placing crispy hashbrowns on the bottom bun.​
  17. Top with cheese covered burger.​
  18. Next place crispy bacon and cooked egg.​
  19. 5 oz bearnaise sauce, warmed, split between 5 ramekins.
  20. Finished with top bun and enjoy.

  • Outdoor charcoal grill or well-seasoned cast iron pans produce the best tasting burgers.
