Korean Hash Brown Corndog

Ingredients

Precooked hotdogs or dry Mozzarella cheese cut into long sticks

Oil for deep fryer

Directions

  1. Preheat oil to 350˚F.
  2. Secure hotdog and mozzarella cheese pieces with thick wooden skewers.
  3. Spread out hash browns on a baking sheet for ease of rolling.
  4. Dip skewered hotdogs and cheese stick into the batter, using a twisting motion to allow for better adhesion.
  5. Remove from batter and roll in shredded hash browns to evenly coat the batter, pressing gently.
  6. Immediately fry for approximately 3-5 minutes or until the outside is golden brown and the cheese is melted on the inside.
  7. Remove from oil, place on paper towel to drain, and sprinkle lightly with sugar and salt.
  8. Garnish with your favorite sauce such as ketchup, mustard, or mayonnaise.

Batter

Ingredients

All purpose flour
1 ¼ cup
Granulated sugar
2 Tbsp.
Baking powder
2 tsp.
Whole milk
¾ cup
Salt
1 ½

Directions

  1. Mix together all dry ingredients together for the batter.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix together milk and egg.
  3. Gradually add dry ingredients into wet ingredients and whisk until batter is smooth.
  4. For ease of dipping, move batter into a tall drinking glass.
